Dundrum is a lovely village on the County Down coast, nestled at the edge of the inner bay between the Mourne Mountains and the Irish Sea. The village is best known for its Norman castle, built around 1210 on an earlier fortified earthwork.
The village is easy to find, being on the main A24 trunk road, about 45 minutes drive from Belfast. Although overshadowed for many years by the resort town of Newcastle 4 miles to the South, Dundrum is currently undergoing a revival, with many visitors now preferring the quieter charms of this coastal village.
